Who needs an SPCC Plan?

Facilities that store more than 1,320 gallons of aggregate aboveground oil (or 42,000 gallons underground) and could reasonably discharge to navigable U.S. waters must maintain an SPCC Plan under 40 CFR 112. This covers most industrial, commercial, and construction sites with fuel tanks, transformers, hydraulic oil, or lubricants.

What's the difference between a Tier I, Tier II, and full SPCC Plan?

Tier I (self-certified template) applies to facilities under 10,000 gallons with no single container over 5,000 gallons and no discharge history. Tier II (self-certified full plan) applies to the same size but with mixed container sizes. Full PE-certified plans are required for any facility above 10,000 gallons or with a qualifying discharge history — we handle all three.

How long does a new SPCC Plan take to prepare?
